Terms of Use
Last updated October 31, 2026.
These terms are an agreement between you and Kea Marketing LLC, an Alabama limited liability company, which operates this site as Power Outage Pros. Using the site means you accept them. If you don’t, please don’t use it.
What this site is
Power Outage Pros is a local resource and referral site about home backup power on the Gulf Coast. We publish guides and calculators, and we pass quote requests to installers who cover the requester’s area.
We are not a contractor. We do not install, sell, service or inspect generators. We do not perform electrical or gas work, we do not pull permits, and we do not supervise, employ or control the installers we refer you to. By using this site you accept that distinction, because it shapes everything below.
Estimates and calculators are estimates
The size calculator, the cost estimator and every price range on this site are planning tools built from published figures and from our own assumptions, which we label as estimates where we make them. They are not quotes, not offers, and not a load calculation.
- Only a licensed installer who has seen your house can tell you what you need and what it costs. Their number is the real one; ours is a starting point for the conversation.
- Equipment prices, labor rates and material costs change, and ours may be out of date on the day you read them.
- Nothing here is electrical, engineering, legal or financial advice. Do not use this site in place of a professional who is accountable for the work.
Installers are independent of us
An installer we refer you to is an independent business. They are not our employee, partner, agent or subcontractor, and we are not theirs. We do not warrant their work, their pricing, their credentials or their conduct.
Check credentials yourself before you hire anyone. Ask for their license number and verify it with your state licensing board, ask for proof of insurance, and confirm the permit will be pulled. A referral from us is not a vetting, a recommendation, or a guarantee of anything.
Your contract for the work is between you and the installer. We are not a party to it, and disputes about price, scheduling, workmanship, damage or warranty are between the two of you.
Submitting a quote request
Submitting the quote form asks us to pass what you entered to one local installer so they can contact you about it. You confirm the information is yours and is accurate, and that you are old enough to enter a contract where you live.
The consent you give on that form covers contact from that installer by phone, text or email about your request. It is not consent to autodialed or prerecorded calls, and it is not consent to marketing unrelated to what you asked about — an installer who wants either of those needs to ask you itself.
We do not promise that an installer will respond, that one covers your area, or that a quote you receive will resemble any range published here. Consent to be contacted is not a condition of buying anything, and you can decline a quote for any reason. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to the information itself, and for how to have it deleted.
Affiliate links
This site currently carries no affiliate links. If we add them, they will be marked as paid links, they will open in a new tab, and the affiliate disclosure will say so before you follow one. How we work explains how the site is paid for today.
Where we link out to anyone — a utility, a building department, a manufacturer’s manual — we do not control that site and we are not responsible for it. Anything you buy elsewhere is governed by that seller’s own terms, pricing and returns policy.
Permits, codes and inspections
Requirements for generator installation vary by city, county and utility, and they change. Where we describe a permit or a code requirement we tell you to verify it locally, and we mean it: your building department and your gas and electric utilities are the authorities, not this site. Work done without the required permits and inspections can be unsafe, uninsurable and expensive to undo.
Using the site
- The content, layout and code of this site are ours. Don’t republish substantial parts of it as your own, and don’t scrape it to rebuild it elsewhere. Quoting a passage with a link back is welcome.
- Don’t submit anyone else’s contact details, send automated or bulk submissions, or try to break, probe or overload the site.
- Our outbound links go to sites we do not control. We are not responsible for their content or their practices.
No warranty, and the limit of what we owe you
The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy or non-infringement. We do not promise the site will be available, current or error-free.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, property damage or personal injury, arising from your use of this site, from an estimate you relied on, or from work performed by an installer. Some jurisdictions do not allow these exclusions, in which case they apply to you only as far as the law permits.
Our total liability to you, for any and all claims taken together, will not exceed one hundred US dollars ($100). This site is free to use and we charge you nothing, which is the basis for that limit. It applies whatever the theory of the claim — contract, negligence, or anything else.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence.
If we disagree
Tell us first. Use the contact page and give us 30 days to put it right — most problems are a wrong figure or a stale link, and we would rather fix it than argue about it.
If that doesn’t resolve it, you and we agree that any claim will be brought individually, not as part of a class action or a consolidated proceeding. You may still bring an individual claim in small-claims court if it qualifies.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms, and we will change the date at the top when we do. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute that reaches a court is the state and federal courts located in Baldwin County, Alabama, and you and we each consent to that venue.
If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest stays in force and the unenforceable part is narrowed only as far as necessary.
