Privacy Policy

Last updated October 31, 2026.

The short version. We run no analytics and set no cookies. The calculators never leave your browser. The only information we collect is what you type into a form, and the only reason we collect it is to do the thing you asked for.

What we don’t collect

  • No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no Tag Manager, no Plausible, no Fathom and no pixel on this site.
  • No cookies set by us. We do not set cookies, and we have no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
  • No third-party scripts. Nothing on these pages loads code from anybody else’s server.
  • The calculators run in your browser. What you check off in the size calculator or the cost estimator stays on your device. It is never transmitted and we never see it — unless you use the optional “email me this result” box, which sends only your address and the result.

What we collect, and why

There are three forms on this site, and each collects only what its job needs.

  • The quote form. Your name, contact details, ZIP code and what you tell us about the house. This goes to one local installer who covers your area so they can contact you about your request. That is the entire purpose of collecting it.
  • The contact form. Your name, email and message, so we can answer you.
  • “Email me this result.” Your email address and the calculator result, so we can send it. Your result is on screen either way — we never put it behind an email.

We don’t sell your information, we don’t send it to four companies so they can all call you, and we don’t add you to a marketing list from the quote form.

Consent, and what we record about it

The quote form asks you to check a box agreeing that one local installer may contact you by phone, text or email about your request. When you submit it we store the exact wording you were shown, whether you checked it, and when — because consent we cannot show you the wording of is not worth much to either of us.

That consent does not cover autodialed or prerecorded calls, and it does not cover marketing about anything other than what you asked about. An installer who wants either has to ask you itself.

Who receives your data

Every service that can see it, and what each one sees. If we add another, this list changes before it does.

WhoWhat they doWhat they see
VercelHosts the site and serves every page.Standard web request logs: IP address, user agent, the page requested.
GoogleReceives the form, stores it in a spreadsheet, and sends the notification email. Google Workspace and Apps Script.Everything you typed into the form, and the consent record that goes with it.
The installer we pass your request toContacts you about the quote you asked for. One installer, not several.Your quote request: your name, contact details, and what you told us about the house.

Each of those is a company with its own privacy policy, and we have no control over what they do beyond the job we use them for. We would also hand over data if the law actually required it, and we would tell you unless we were forbidden to.

How long we keep it

A quote request is kept for up to 24 months, so we can answer questions about who received it and settle a dispute if one comes up. Contact messages are kept as long as the conversation is useful. After that they are deleted.

You can ask us to delete yours at any time, before that. Use the contact page and we will remove it from our records and tell you which installer received it. We cannot delete it from the installer’s own records — you would need to ask them, and we will tell you who to ask.

Your choices

  • Don’t want an installer contacting you? Don’t submit the quote form. Everything else on this site works without it.
  • You can use the calculators without giving us anything, and the result is never hidden behind an email.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have a right to see, correct or delete what we hold. Ask and we will do it, wherever you live — it is a short list and we would rather just honor the request than check whether we have to.

Children

This site is for homeowners and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top. Material changes — a new service that receives your data, or a new reason we collect it — will be reflected here before they take effect.
